Manoeuvring an oil rig into a Norwegian port

  • Maneuvering an oil rig into some of the sheltered Norwegian ports can be a challenge! Pentagon has been involved with ships agency services for oil rigs for many years. The coordination of pilotage and tugs is a key element and can be hampered by less than favorable weather conditions.  Typically, an oil rig will do a port call for maintenance, upgrades, rebuilds, and life extension programs.

Pentagon handles a substantial number of vessel and port clearances every year. Our clients are vessel owners and rig owners.  They operate within several industries such as energy, cruise and leisure, and navy.

Through our experienced Ships Agency Department, we take responsibility for services such as notifications to port and national authorities, customs formalities, pilotage, coordination of loading/discharging, husbandry services, fuel and water replenishment, crew services, and travel arrangements.
