The world’s largest jack-up vessel Voltaire has arrived in the UK port of Able Seaton to build the largest offshore wind farm in the world.
The Voltaire is 182 metres long and 60 metres wide, and its four legs measure over 130 metres. The vessel has a 3,200-tonne Huisman Crane and can lift 16,000 tonnes of cargo. 🏗️
The jack-up is specifically designed to transport, hoist and install the next-generation offshore wind turbines, transition pieces and foundations. It can handle wind turbines of over 270 metres in height and 120 metres long blades.
Voltaire will be transporting and installing a total of 277 GE Haliade-X turbines.
Our partner, Carlbom Shipping Ltd, are super excited to have been appointed to handle all agency work for this project. The appointment is testimony to Carlbom’s leading position in the offshore wind market. 🤩
