Pentagon was approached directly by an E&P Operator who found themselves in major debt with the relevant Customs Authorities. They had been placed on a final notification for a 6 figure sum and were pending Bailiff intervention.
The client lacked resources to solve the problem internally and no one within the organisation had taken responsibility for Export / Import Compliance processes.
Our Customs Consultancy Team immediately contacted Customs and liaised with them on behalf of the Client. Through discussion with Customs a resolution was identified:
Pentagon arranged to train personnel and develop processes and procedures which would maintain Customs Compliances Controls going forward.
The finalised plans were then provided to the Customs Authority as evidence of future commitment. As a direct result, Customs retracted their “Letter of Debt’, saving the client in excess of $100k and allowed the Company to continue to make use of suspended Duty & GST regimes available to them.
To date we remain a valuable resource for our client providing a direct interface between them and Customs.
