    Role Overview

    The Import/Brokerage Agent is responsible to provide import process efficiently and work jointly with logistics distribution services groups to ensure movements of goods primarily via air and ocean that are compliance and aiming improvements on-time delivery of goods to local business segments. 

    What we’re looking for

    The Import/Brokerage Agent is responsible and accountable for (but not limited to) the following:  

    •  Assist team in coordinating Air and Ocean Import operations  
    • Liaising with clients and providing high level customer service  
    • Handling import customer inquiries and requests for transport  
    • Providing quotations as required  
    • Liaising with overseas agents / offices to obtain rates and charges  
    • Preparation of the U.S. Customs Import Documentation entered our in-house system with a clear understanding of US Customs regulations /requirements.  
    • Coordinate timely clearance and delivery  
    • Tracking and tracing shipments and updating clients with expected delivery schedule 
    • Registering import freight shipments and processing related documentation 
    • Ensuring all necessary documents are received from overseas offices to enable import shipments and clearances to take place 
    • Liaising with air and shipping lines, brokers and relevant government bodies 
    • Ensuring that all creditor invoices are checked for compliance with agreed rates and approved for payment in a timely manner 

    Ensuring that all clients are invoiced in accordance with agreed rate registers where applicable  

    Selection Criteria 

    • Two years or more of logistics and supply chain industry related experience 
    • Knowledge of the Import industry including air, ocean and land
    • Previous experience working with Customs and Brokers 
    • CargoWise experience highly preferred 
    • Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate (verbally and intuitively) effectively with both customers and Pentagon staff. Including all levels of management. 
    • Ability to work both autonomously and within a team environment
